Biography
paul Paul Swan was born in England in 1956. He studied Fine Art at Doncaster College of Art and Visual Communications at Granville College and Sheffield Polytechnic. Early in his career, he accepted illustration and portrait commissions (human and equine) while developing his own non-representational style. His abstract pieces - based on forms and resonance found in nature - gained recognition and became the focus of his work.

In England he exhibited in London's Liberty and Chalk Farm galleries and numerous northern galleries including South Yorkshire Arts. His work also appeared in public, civic and corporate collections and won prizes in open exhibitions such as the Manchester Academy and South Yorkshire Open.

In 1990 he settled permanently in Dublin with his wife and three children. Since moving to Ireland, he has completed many private and corporate commissions, and has shown work at: - The Wyvern Gallery, Dublin · The Sandford Gallery, Dublin · The RHA Annual Exhibition · The Boyle Arts Festival · The Department of Arts, Culture & the Gaeltacht · and Greenacres Gallery, Wexford.

Paul is connected to the Bridge Gallery, 6 Upper Ormond Quay, Dublin 7, where his work is always on show.
